If you are Noynoy and win the presidency in 2010, what will you do for the first 100 days? Here’s my own list: All appointments for primary positions in the government, not only clean and honest, but should come from the names submitted by the Academe, NGOs, Civic and Religious groups, and should be screened strictly for past work history and credentials. Strengthen the Ombudsman by appointing more honest, clean and incorruptible prosecutors recommended by the Academe, NGOs, Civic and Rel

A renewable energy entrepreneur says he will be forced to cut 150 staff from his company unless the Federal Government can deliver more assistance to wind power equipment manufacturers. The threat comes as the Government’s rebate for solar hot water has created huge demand, forcing down prices for renewable energy credits and stifling demand for other forms of alternative energy.

At first blush, this story from the Washington Post is pretty funny: a “green energy” firm’s wind farm project in West Virginia is being challenged under the Endangered Species Act by some local tree bat huggers. Tiny bat pits green against green It is the first court challenge to wind power under the Endangered Species Act, lawyers on both sides say. … At the heart of the Beech Ridge case is the Indiana bat , a brownish-gray creature that weighs about as much as three pennies and,

Ras Al Khaimah ranks among the smaller emirates of the UAE federation but it has always had an important position: In the past it was a centre of traditional shipbuilding and maritime commerce, more recently as a centre of quarrying, manufacturing and tourism. Since 2003, the government of the emirate has been pursuing the policy of diversification of the economy, industrialization and promotion of tourism, investment into education and public health and by investment into public utilities. | Sourced From Capecodtoday.com |The Waxman-Markey bill on climate change that recently passed the House is a train wreck waiting to happen. Intended to reduce global warming and achieve energy independence, it is totally inadequate in its reliance on a flawed cap and trade system, and the recently released Senate version called the Kerry-Boxer bill follows the same track. Like the House bill, the Senate version represents the further transfer of wealth from taxpayers to the nuclear and fossil-f

Environment Minister Jim Prentice is going out of his way this week to lower expectations for the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December. Citing Canada’s “faster-growing population and energy-intensive industrial structure”, Prentice is continuing to insist that Canada should not be held to the same standards as, say, Japan or the E.U. when it comes to emission targets. Moreover, he is presenting something of a chicken-or-the-egg conundrum regarding Canada’s plan, or lack t

I thought I would take a minute and congratulate the state of Florida on their new addition to their power grid. The Desoto Next Generation Solar Energy Center is scheduled to open this week and will supply up to 25 megawatts of power. This will make it the largest photovoltaic center in the U.S. The plant will make enough power to supply about 3,000 homes. It will be the equivalent of taking about 25,000 cars off the road. I certainly hope that Florida will continue to follow the path of sol
